FamilyWealth

Protection and peace of mind, for the whole family.

What is the difference between a “Beneficiary” and a “Nominated Dependent”?

A Beneficiary is the person to whom the cover benefit will be paid to when you die.

A Nominated Dependent is a person you add to your FamilyWealth Funeral Plan, who when they die will result in you receiving the policy benefit.

A nominated dependent can however, be a beneficiary too.

Please note that only nominated dependents as listed on your Policy Schedule are covered and that applicable waiting periods for these dependents commence from the date of the first debit order after they have been listed on your policy schedule and not when you started paying for the product.

How do I add a beneficiary to my policy?

You can add a Beneficiary using the DuePoint App. Go to Menu > My Products > FamilyWealth > Beneficiary > Add.

Do I need to provide Proof of my Relationships with my Nominated Family Members?

Yes, you will need to prove your relationship with any family members that you add to your policy.

Proof includes any or all of the following:

  1. Marriage certificates,
  2. Birth certificates
  3. Affidavits containing detailed family trees indicating the relationship
  4. Any other documents that DuePoint may require.

Please provide these documents as soon as you can after applying for this policy as you will not be able to claim on your nominated family member where no documentation has been received and approved by DuePoint.

What documentation will be required to lodge a claim?

Every dependent loaded must be a family member as listed in the policy document.

Before or when you claim for the death of a dependent, you will need to provide one or more of the following and or any other documentation that DuePoint requires from you at the time:

  • Unabridged Marriage certificate
  • Unabridged birth certificate
  • Divorce decree
  • Adoption certificate
  • ID document
  • Passport
  • Policy affidavit

As well as any other documentation that DuePoint may require specific to your claim.

How do I make changes to my family members on this policy?

Editing your or your nominated dependents details can be done through the DuePoint App or by simply writing to DuePoint’s client service team on info@duepoint.net

Can I take out more than one FamilyWealth Funeral Plan with DuePoint?

No. Due to legislated funeral benefit limits, you can only purchase one FamilyWealth Funeral Plan from DuePoint.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my policy to a higher or lower level of cover?

Yes, you can both upgrade and downgrade your policy’s cover benefits. Where you increase the cover benefit of your policy, the increased benefit will only apply once you have completed the waiting periods again. During the waiting periods for that increased benefit you will still enjoy your original cover benefits where you had completed their respective waiting periods. There are no waiting periods where you reduce your policies benefits.
